ssl certification
what is an ssl certificate?
SSL (secure sockets layer) certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organisation’s details. When installed on a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser. Typically, SSL is used to secure credit card transactions, data transfer and logins, and more recently is becoming the norm when securing browsing of social media sites.
does IOWP use an ssl certificate?
We certainly do! If you look down to the bottom right of the page you’ll see the Mcafee shield. Hover your mouse over that and it will pop out to reveal some more details. Click on it and a pop-up window will show you all the details of how it monitors and secures our website.
so this site is completely safe and secure?
Yes, completely secure. During the order process we only ask you for a couple of details (your email, shipping address and name), the same details a forum registration page might ask for. However, even those few details are sent to us via secure SSL encryption. For the actual payment itself you’re then transferred from our secure server to Paypals’ where you’ll make the payment. Paypal will then send you back to our secure page where we’ll thank you for completing your order. Even whilst you’re browsing our blog posts, pages or products you’re surfing under full SSL encryption. So relax, you’re completely safe at IOWP.
